There are countless hiking trails and destinations in the area where you can go for a walk from spring to autumn. In winter, you can go skiing at Křemešník, Čeřínek or Šacberk. You will also find numerous cross-country trails and beautiful historically interesting places and towns.
Enjoy Vysočina and here are a few tips on where to go.
Lipnice nad Sázavou is home to one of the most powerful Czech aristocratic castles. A tour is definitely worth it! From Lipnice you can take a walk to the flooded quarries with rock reliefs by Radomír Dvořák. The National eavesdropping memorial consists of Bretschneider's Ear, the Mouth of Truth and the Golden Eyes. You can extend the trip to the Head XXII object by the same artist. The route is marked from the town square in Lipnice nad Sázavou, where there is also an orientation map. Don't forget about the Czech Crown Inn, operated by the Hašek family.
You can reach Křemešník from the cabins on the blue trail after six kilometers. There is a healing spring with a chapel. From the chapel with its healing spring, a Way of the Cross leads to the summit. Fourteen stations were created according to a design by V. Foerstr with relief scenes of Christ's Passion. At the very top stands a baroque complex dominated by the Church of the Holy Trinity, surrounded by ambulatories and chapels of the Coronation.
A town with a beautiful historic square, lined with Gothic and Renaissance burgher houses with arcades and richly decorated gables, is listed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. In the town with its incomparable fairy-tale atmosphere, you will for a moment be transported back to the Renaissance. Right from the square you can enter Telč Castle. Also see the manicured Renaissance garden with arcades and the castle park. In summer, attend a concert at the legendary "Prázdniny v Telči" festival.
On the way, you can stop at the 18-hole Golf Resort Telč, or visit Roštejn Castle or the Oslednice lookout tower.
You can head to Želiv by bike. It's less than 17km away and on the way you might pass the Sedlice reservoir. The entire dam is made of stone and interestingly designed. It is easily accessible from all sides, but the best view is from below the dam. In Želiv, visit the local monastery founded 880 years ago by the Premonstratensian order and taste the beer from the monastic brewery, and see the church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in the Gothic-Baroque style by architect J. Santini. It's breathtaking.
